I'm a little confused as to why anyone would want to buy a special setup to do this. I've been doing this by simply connecting a 4" hose from any outlet in the system to the cartridge cleanout door. The door has a 4" flange outlet built into it so it's easy to do.
I just this morning discovered this page but didn't find any explanation on the Penn State site explaining the concept. I figure it cleans out the cartridge hopper and also knocks excess dust off the cartridges as the recirculating air passes by them.
I find very little dust in the hopper so the main benefit is cleaning the cartridges.
